Elizabeth II – Queen of Brooches. Take a look at the most beautiful pieces from her collection

Every woman deserves something that underlines her uniqueness. Queens are no different. British monarch Elizabeth II has taken a fancy to unique brooches. Her collection may inspire many lovers of beauty.

Wedding brooch of Queen Alexandra

Every bride wishes her wedding day to be adorned and to shine among all others. When it comes to royal weddings, the radiance is even more striking. Queen Alexandra received a unique wedding brooch in the shape of triple cluster. This jewel was part of her bottom drawer. She got it in 1863 from her then husband-to-be, King Edward VII. Elizabeth II received the brooch in 1953.

The brooch was made in the shop of the famous London jewellery manufacturer Garrard, whose tradition dates back to the 18th century. It was part of the parure that included a beautiful tiara, necklace, and earrings. It consists of diamonds and pearls, and is completed with a diamond pearl chain.

Queen Victoria’s brooch

The members of Queen Victoria’s private staff wanted to honour her on her diamond jubilee and gave her a unique brooch. It was made of diamonds and pearls as part of the royal heritage. The brooch used to be a favourite jewel of Queen Elizabeth, who, after her death, bequeathed it to her daughter, keen brooch collector, Elizabeth II.

Brooch of the Duchess of Cambridge

Elizabeth II received this unique piece as a gift from her grandmother, the Duchess of Cambridge. The brooch accompanied her on two major events – the baptisms of her granddaughter in 1926 and of the current Prince of Wales in 1948. Elizabeth II inherited the brooch in 1953.
